As blistering summer heat gives way to cooler fall temperatures, the Trinity River comes alive with fish. The crystal
clear water and spectacular scenery of Six Rivers National Forest make for a picture perfect backdrop to some of California's best salmon and steelhead fishing. Late September and
October is peak time with good action stretching into November on years when winter rains come late. While not typically known for giant fish, the Trinity offers outstanding numbers
of king salmon running 8 to 30 pounds and steelhead running 4 to 12 pounds.
Green Water Fishing Adventures specializes in the uncrowded lower river from the South Fork down to it's confluence with the Klamath. A world away from the swarms of anglers on the
upper sections, the bottom portion of the Trinity gives up spectacular numbers of bright, good eating king salmon in addition to the healthy run of summer and fall steelhead. A typical
day offers shots at both species as we alternate between plugging steelhead riffles and backbouncing salmon holes. With the fantastic fall weather, crystal clear waters, wildlife
sightings and great fishing, the Trinity River offers an exceptional experience.
